Arsenal on red alert as No.8 top-class midfielder allowed to leave the club
Napoli star Jorginho has reportedly been given the green light to leave the Serie A side.
The 26-year-old has made a name for himself as one of Serie A’s leading players since joining Stadio San Paolo outfit from Hellas Verona in 2014.
Napoli were initially believed to be unwilling to let one of their key footballers leave the club.
As reported to the Corriere Dello Sport, however, the Italian side have agreed on terms with a possible replacement in Sampdoria teenager Lucas Torreira, ahead of a likely £20m summer deal.
Correira’s purported move to the Partenopei would reportedly allow the Italy international to seek pastures new, with Liverpool who fears to lose Emre Can in the summer thought to be most keen on his signature.
Fellow Premier League clubs Arsenal and Manchester United have also been linked with the thrice-capped Azzurri star.
Meanwhile, Former Chelsea head coach Carlo Ancelotti is allegedly interested in taking over from Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.
Paris Saint-Germain are targeting to secure the Italian coach’s signature for next campaign, however, according to Calciomercato, he has his sights set on the North Londoners.
The Italian has been out of work since parting ways with Bayern Munich last September, however, has earlier been linked with various jobs, including the top post with the Italy national side.
The Stories suggest that the coach’s ex-club Chelsea are also keeping tabs on him.
Current Arsenal head coach Wenger has come under stress to step down at the end of the campaign after the Gunners slipped to 13 points away from the Champions League places in the English top league.
The Frenchman, however, released some of the tension by guiding the Gunners to an impressive 2-0 victory away to AC Milan in the Europa League in midweek.
