Chelsea edge closer to sign 28-goals South American goal machine
PSG striker Edinson Cavani is reportedly on Chelsea’s radar. The Blues want Uruguayan striker who could be the only chance to save French club from Financial Fair Play violation. Cavani, 31, is Ligue 1’s top scorer with 28 goals and PSG’s all-time top scorer with 115. He joined for the French club in 2013 from Napoli in a £55m deal.
Cavani has had various fallings out with world-record signing Neymar and PSG are happy to cash-in on the 31-year-old if they can save their own replacement, Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski. Chelsea see Cavani as the ideal striker to lead the line and have already made a provisional investigation to PSG.
Chelsea are not the only one interested in signing him, however, Atletico Madrid and Juventus also tracking his situation. Despite going down in the club’s history books, though, PSG are reportedly ready to let the 31-year-old leave for the correct price, due to a number of fallings out with world-record signing Neymar. Chelsea see PSG star Cavani as Morata’s replacement and have already made contact over a possible move for him this summer.
