Chelsea joined the race to complete the deal for the South American sensation
Chelsea and Liverpool are reportedly interested in Sebastian Caceres.
The Uruguay Under-18s captain has proved himself at Montevideo side Liverpool FC after rising through their academy levels.
And he’s since been tipped for a transfer to Europe, following in the steps of compatriots Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani.
Caceres earlier spent time training with Dutch giants Feyenoord however they failed to reach an agreement to get him on-board.
It appears he could get the opportunity to test himself at a higher class with one of the Premier League’sgiants though.
As reported by The Sun, Chelsea and Liverpool have sent officials to watch Caceres.
They’re not alone in showing an interest in the defender though.
Man City are believed to have watched Caceres’ development in the past.
Barcelona, meanwhile, are believed to be keeping tabs on him too.
Caceres holds a Spanish passport, meaning he wouldn’t need a work license to move to England.
The Blues and Liverpool’s opportunities of securing the 18-year-old signature could be boosted by his agent working in the UK.
Nick Maytum, from TMG Football, is located in England and that may help the West Londoners or Reds seal a deal.
