Chelsea moved in to land 26-year-old La Liga ace
Everton have been chasing Villarreal star Mateo Musacchio with a prospect of a summer move, according to the latest reports.
The defender has been in amazing form for the La Liga club this campaign, playing 29 games in all tournaments and helping the club to fifth place in the league.
AC Milan are believed to have edged close to a deal for The player, however, according to the Liverpool Echo, the Toffees are pulling out all the stations to attempt and move for the Argentine ahead of the Rossoneri.
It is also understood that Chelsea are watching Musacchio as a possible replacement for John Terry, who will leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the term.
Musacchio, whose Villarreal deal runs out in 2018, joined the club from River Plate’s youth side in 2009 and has played 183 matches for the Yellow Submarines.
Meanwhile, Chelsea and Manchester City target Franck Kessie keen to join AC Milan this summer.
The Atalanta ace has been one of the best footballers in Italy this campaign, and several sides from around Europe are chasing him.
The Blues and Manchester City have been linked with the African, while Roma have already had a £24m offer approved.
However, according to Italian outlet SportItalia, Kessie will join Milan this summer after making them his favoured option.
The San Siro side have been observing the 20-year-old for a season, and now their takeover has been finished they have the money to make a move.
