Key Liverpool man linked with a shock switch to Bundesliga giants

Liverpool keeper Simon Mignolet has reportedly developed as a transfer target for Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.

The Belgium international has fallen out of favour at Anfield, not playing in the Premier League since the 2-1 win at Burnley on New Year’s Day.

Dortmund, meanwhile, are understood to be seeking an upgrade on their current first-choice custodian, Switzerland international Roman Burki, in their effort to rival an more dominant Bayern Munich.

As reported by The Sun, Liverpool are happy to confirm Mignolet’s departure and will quote BVB a £10m fee for the 30-year-old’s services.

The story also claims that Stoke City were also keen on Mignolet. However their relegation from the Premier League has made them an incredible destination for the former Sunderland stopper.

The Belgian has played 202 games for Liverpool in all tournaments since his 2013 move from the Stadium of Light.
