Man United fans should be happy es Euro giants cooled interest in Spaniard
Real Madrid have reportedly identified that Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois is more likely to move to the Bernabeu than Manchester United keeper David de Gea.
For a number of seasons, De Gea has been repeatedly linked with an ultimate return to Spain’s capital, where he has earlier served Atletico Madrid, however, Real have, so far, failed to get a deal over the line.
The Belgian star has openly claimed that he would like to return to Madrid at some step in his career and according to The Independent, Real have confirmed that they will have a better opportunity of signing the Belgian international.
The 25-year-old has less than 18 months left on his deal at Stamford Bridge and although Chelsea are keen to extend his remain in West London, a new deal has been not accepted.
Before this week, Courtois suggested that his ‘heart was in Madrid’ having played 138 games for Atletico in three seasons at the club between 2011 and 2014.
Meanwhile, Luis Enrique will reportedly make the signing of Barcelona forward Luis Suarez his top transfer priority if he replaces Antonio Conte as head coach of Chelsea this term.
Conte’s future at Stamford Bridge has come under increasing scrutiny in recent weeks due to a string of incredible results, including emphatic losses to Bournemouth and Watford in the Premier League and an EFL Cup exit to direct rivals.
The Stories in recent days have claimed that West Londoner’s owner Roman Abramovich has already started the method of finding Conte’s successor and has earmarked former Barcelona manager Enrique as his prime target.
According to prime Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda, Enrique has started thinking about what he might do at Stamford Bridge and has prioritised a raid on his former club in order to bring Suarez back to the Premier League.
The 31-year-old moved to Camp Nou from The Reds in a £65m deal in July 2014 and went on to form a prosperous partnership with Lionel Messi and Neymar, which ended when the South American departed for Paris Saint-Germain last summer.
The Uruguayan committed his future to Barca in December 2016 keeping him at the club until 2021, with an associated release clause of €200m (£177.6m).
