25-year-old loanee wants to leave Chelsea despite signing new contract

Lucas Piazon has announced his time at London club is ‘already over’ amid signing a contract extension during the summer. Brazilian attacker joined the Blues in 2011 as one of the world’s most talented youngsters but has been shipped out on seven different loan spells.

Lucas joined Liga NOS club Rio Ave earlier this month, and London club confirmed he had signed a new contract to extend his current deal to 2021. Blues are expecting Piazon to come back to Stamford Bridge next summer, but the forward has other plans, as he said: ‘My time at Chelsea is already over.

‘I’m 25, I’ve been on loan in several clubs. I’ve been to London since 2011, I’ve been on loan almost all across Europe. ‘I’m tired of playing here and there, I need a club where I can feel at home.

‘I’d have a good campaign on loan, but I’d return and was soon loaned again. ‘There was no point in going out on loan, playing well, come to Chelsea, not being used and being loaned again. ‘There comes a time in your career that makes no sense anymore.

During his time with the London club, the 25-year-old winger has been sent out on loan a whopping seven times, with the attacker spending time with all of Fulham, Chievo, Reading, Rio Ave, Eintracht Frankfurt, Vitesse and Malaga.

It’s easy to see why Brazilian winger would want to leave the London club, as it can get pretty tiring having to find a new team every campaign, only to go and then return to Chelsea once the season has finished.
