£25m-rated defender agreed to sign new deal with Chelsea
David Luiz agreed to sign a new long-term deal with Chelsea despite several offers from the clubs. It is fantastic news for the London club as Gary Cahill already 33-year-old, Andreas Christensen planning to change the working place and there is no time for losing one more centre-back.
N’Golo Kante already signed a new contract with the Blues and Brazil international would be next. He has an impressive season and proves his worth one more time. Napoli and Benfica were keen to sign him last summer, but David preferred to remain in England and help his clubs to win the titles.
Luiz spent two campaigns with PSG, but he returned to Chelsea in 2016 with a £32m deal and became an unchanged figure for the club. In this campaign, Brazilian defender already played 37 matches, scored two goals and made two assists in all tournament. It is an excellent result, and he can do much more during this season.
The 31-year-old centre-back has contracted with the London club until 2019, and his release clause is nearly £25m. His price could increase and become much more. Luiz was a regular member of the national team and also helped them to finish the 2014 Mundial in a fourth place which is already a big success for the footballer.
He won many trophies during his career like Champions League, Premier League and Ligue 1. Blues linked with several defenders like Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly, Ajax starlet Matthijs de Ligt, Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani, Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli and Borussia Mönchengladbach footballer Matthias Ginter.
