26-year-old playmaker talked about his transfer to Chelsea
Ajax playmaker Hakim Ziyech admits he’s already thinking about next campaign at Stamford Bridge after the attacker completed his move to Chelsea.
The London club triggered a release clause in Morocco international’s deal in winter. It announced on Sunday evening that they had agreed on personal terms with the attacker over a move to Chelsea.
Blues manager is desperate to add more firepower to his team, and he expects to lose the likes of Pedro and Willian this summer ahead of Hakim’s arrival. Willian and Pedro heavily linked with several clubs.
Completing Ziyech’s move was a mere formality, but Chelsea have now announced that personal terms have been agreed and the attacker took the opportunity to express his happiness at completing the agreement.
‘I am delighted and proud to have signed for such a huge club as Chelsea,’ the 26-year-old attacker said. ‘I am looking forward to next season and hope we can achieve great things together.’
Blues director Marina Granovskaia added: ‘We are delighted Hakim will be joining us in the summer, having been a key target of the clubs in this last window. Hakim is a regular member of the national team squad and also played in the 2018 World Cup.
He has consistently been one of the most dangerous playmakers in Europe in recent years, which we saw first-hand in our two matches with Ajax in the UCL. ‘We wish Hakim and Ajax all the best for the rest of the campaign and look forward to welcoming him to Chelsea in the summer.’
