Arsenal are closely monitoring €60m-rated Premier League winger
Mino Raiola is poised to make a play for Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha. The super-agent is famous for his transfer dealings and masterminding mega-moves, including Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku’s switches to Man United.
Ivory Coast international failed in his attempts to force a move to Emirates Stadium during the summer transfer window. Wilfried is ‘unhappy’ with his management company USM and has given notice he intends to move on. Zaha’s unhappiness stems from USM’s failure to engineer his switch to Arsenal after Eagles slapped a huge asking price on his head.
The 26-year-old attacker handed in a transfer request, but Crystal Palace refused to lower their demands and Gunners moved onto other targets, signing Nicolas Pepe from Lille. Italian agent has a host of high-profile clients, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Mario Balotelli, Matthijs de Ligt and Lorenzo Insigne.
While Roy Hodgson says Ivorian star has been a model professional since the return to the first-team fold, Wilfried blames USM for his failed move to London club. Zaha’s contract with USM expires next year. It is unclear if Gunners will revive their interest in Zaha after committing huge funds to the signing of Pepe.
Everton attempted a last-ditch move for Wilfried, but could not agree on a deal with Eagles. ‘The unfortunate thing for Zaha is that offer did not come his way from the sort of club that he would want,’ Roy Hodgson said. ‘I think Steve Parish has made that clear to Wilf and they’ve thrashed that side of it out.
