Arsenal boss ready to listen to offers for £90,000-a-week centre-back
Gunners manager Unai Emery has revealed that “some footballers will leave” Arsenal before the transfer window slams shut for European clubs. The London club were very active this transfer window, sealing deals for key first-team players like Nicolas Pepe, David Luiz, Kieran Tierney and Dani Ceballos, as well as future star William Saliba.
Of course, Gunners summer spending spree has opened the star for some of the side’s less talented players to leave, Spanish tactician suggested that while the English deadline may have passed, that Arsenal will be busy securing moves away for some footballers.
“We had with Laurent Koscielny the first captain, but only five days ago he left, other footballers were coming in, we finished our market, but it is at the moment open in other countries.” “In the next 20-25 days, some footballers will leave. It’s the reason, I want to close our squad.
Shkodran was left out of the squad for Gunners Premier League opener with Newcastle, it’s clear to see that the 27-year-old centre-back is the weakest link of all of Arsenal defender options. Mustafi had a terrible season, and Emery prefers to sell Germany international this summer. Ligue 1 clubs are interested in signing German centre-back.
Nacho Monreal was also linked with a return to La Liga, but the veteran left-back has since shut down rumours that he’ll leave. The signing of Kieran Tierney could change Nacho’s mind though, it’s unlikely that the Spaniard will often feature if he’s to compete with Tierney and Sead Kolasinac for a starting spot.
