Arsenal closely monitoring €20m-rated prolific Ligue 1 striker

Serhou Guirassy has poured cold water on talks he could be ready for a move to the PL but admits it’s flattering to be linked with the likes of Gunners and Blues.

U20 France international has established himself as one of the most sought-after strikers in Ligue 1, racking up nine goals and one assist for the French club this campaign before the covid-19 crisis brought French football to a halt.

Blues, Spurs and Hammers are all rumoured to be interested in Serhou, and recent reports suggest Gunners view the centre-forward as a potential long-term replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Earlier this week, one of Serhou’s intermediaries, Mark McKay, did little to quell the speculation by talking up a cut-price switch to Premier League in the summer transfer window.

‘Several teams in England and across Europe have shown an interest in Guirassy after he performed so well for Amiens,’ McKay said. ‘In the current climate due to the impact of the covid pandemic, clubs might not be able to pay huge transfer fees like they used to and in that respect, Guirassy could prove to be a bargain in this window.’

‘Serhou’s preference has always been to play in England, but Amiens will evaluate all bids that come in for him and make a decision from there.’

But the French striker has made it clear that only one person, other than himself, has the authority to speak about his future and that’s his agent Moussa Sissoko. It’s understood Amiens would accept a bid of between €15-20m for the 24-year-old centre-forward following their relegation from Ligue 1.
