Arsenal considering move for creative Brazilian forward
Arsenal could make a surprise move to sign West Ham misfit Felipe Anderson following speculation that the forward has been offered to the Gunners on loan in return for a £5 million fee.
The 27-year-old Brazilian attacker has flattered to deceive for the Hammers recently and has fallen out of favour under manager David Moyes after flashes of promise in his maiden season at the London Stadium.
He netted just once and created only four assists in the top-flight in the 2019-20 season, and may relish the chance of a fresh start as the South American looks to put his West Ham nightmare behind him.
With the Gunners looking to improve their options going forward under Mikel Arteta, the opportunity to land Anderson on a cut-price deal could be a tempting one.
However, with the player said to earn around £140,000 per week at West Ham it is not yet clear how the two sides would agree on what percentage each would pay towards his salary.
Felipe first made the move to the Premier League back in 2018 after he joined the Hammers for a fee of around £36 million from Lazio.
He was an important part of the senior team in his first campaign, making 40 appearances in all competitions and netting 10 goals, but his attitude and commitment to the club have been called into question of late.
Arsenal have already completed the landings of winger Willian, defender Gabriel Magalhaes and midfielder Dani Ceballos this summer as the revolution under Arteta continues.
