Arsenal held negotiations with 22-year-old Brazilian rising star

The London club are reportedly set to intensify efforts to clinch the transfer of Athletico Paranaense star Bruno Guimaraes this week. U23 Brazil international looks a big prospect after shining in his country, and it looks he could soon be snapped up by Arsenal in a bid to bolster one of several positions of weakness in their squad.

The London club are looking ready to step up their bid to sign Bruno this winter, amid initially being prepared to wait to sign him in the summer. Guimaraes could end up being a superb buy if Arsenal do manage to get him in, with boss Mikel Arteta looking in need of upgrades on players like Xhaka and Guendouzi after unconvincing campaigns.

Gunners fans are perhaps unlikely to know a huge amount about the 22-year-old midfielder, who is not the biggest name in the world just yet. Still, the club has had some success in unearthing youngsters in recent times, having done particularly well in also poaching another Brazilian starlet in the form of Gabriel in the summer.

The 18-year-old forward has got off to a great start with London club, so there’s every opportunity the 22-year-old midfielder is another top talent who could do the same. Arsenal have terrible consequences in the Premier League this campaign as they are in a 10th place in the table.

Gunners heavily linked with Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano, PSG left-back Layvin Kurzawa, Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake, Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha and Napoli centre-forward Dries Mertens.
