Arsenal interested in signing 17-year-old French rising star
Arsenal boss has given the green light for the Gunners to pursue a move for talented PSG playmaker Adil Aouchiche. U18 France international has so far refused to commit his future to the Parisians, despite having played three games for Thomas Tuchel’s senior team this campaign.
Adil’s family believe the attacker’s career would benefit were he to leave his boyhood club and go in search of regular first-team football elsewhere. Saint-Etienne and Lille have held talks with Aouchiche, but he is said to be demanding a €4m signing on fee and wages of €25,000-a-week, which is currently representing a major stumbling block.
Gunners will be operating under severe financial restrictions in the transfer market this summer, but Mikel Arteta is said to be keen on rebuilding his squad around young, up and coming stars.
Mikel Arteta replaced Unai Emery in December and had presided over a huge improvement in the team’s displays, but he is likely to be dealing with a revamped squad from the start of next campaign.
Reports earlier this week claimed the former Gunners captain was willing to listen to offers for three of his centre-backs, Shkodran Mustafi, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Rob Holding, while David Luiz’s future now appears uncertain.
The futures of centre-forwards Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, meanwhile, stay the subjects of constant speculation with the current skipper’s situation, in particular, a major concern.
Aubameyang has little over a year left on his current contract and negotiations over a fresh deal have stalled amid the covid19 crisis, while Bukayo Saka, the club’s breakthrough star this campaign, is in an identical position.
