Arsenal join the race to sign 16-year-old Championship striker

A host of Premier League teams have been alerted to the talents of West Brom striker Jovan Malcom after a string of fantastic performances for the under-18 side. English centre-forward has been catching the eye of the biggest clubs in the country with his goal-scoring prowess for the Baggies’ youth teams.

Jovan scored four goals in a 6-3 win for West Brom under-18s over their Liverpool counterparts at the weekend and has now scored seven times in five matches this campaign. While scouts will been aware of Malcom before, that haul against the Reds will have confirmed his place as one of the brightest talents outside of the Premier League.

Merseyside club are one of the clubs thought to be interested in signing him, with Man United, Arsenal and Man City all also well aware of his talents. The 16-year-old starlet is yet to make a senior appearance for the Baggies, but could already be tempted away to one of the biggest clubs in the land.

West Brom are having an excellent campaign on the pitch, sitting top of the Championship, losing only once in 16 games under Slaven Bilic. Jovan Malcom has huge potential and can become a top-class striker if he continuous improvement.

Arsenal started this season terribly as they are in a sixth place in the Premier League table. Gunners signed several footballers during the summer transfer window like Gabriel Martinelli from Ituano, Nicolas Pepe from Lille, David Luiz from Chelsea, Kieran Tierney from Celtic and Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid with a season-long loan deal.
