Arsenal keen on signing £90m-rated German midfielder
Arsenal and Manchester United have registered interest in Bayer Leverkusen youngster Kai Havertz, who is one of the brightest talents in the Bundesliga and has caught the eye of almost every top side in the world.
After netting 20 goals last campaign, the attacking midfielder is expected to push for a move in the summer of 2020.
Sport 1 claims Manchester City and Liverpool are already battling for the youngster and will face competition from Premier League rivals.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are also keen on the 20-year-old, and the playmaker appears set to have his pick of Europe’s biggest sides.
Bayern Munich are desperate to lure the attacking midfielder from local rivals, but Leverkusen will demand a stunning £91 million for the starlet. After watching Benfica collect £113 million for Joao Felix this summer, the Bundesliga club are confident they can require a similar fee for Kai Havertz.
While Havertz has a good relationship with his current club, the youngster is understood to be a life-long Barcelona fan.
The spending power of English clubs will be tempting for Leverkusen, and they hope a bidding war will erupt for the signature of the talented attacker, who can play through the middle or on either wing.
Kai Havertz joined Bayer Leverkusen as an eleven-year-old and has risen through the youth ranks, breaking into the first-team back in the 2016/17 season.
For Arsenal, the addition of the German midfielder will be perfect with his compatriot Mesut Ozil nearing Emirates exit time by time.
