Arsenal keeping tabs with €20m-rated French defensive rock
London club are targeting a move for Wolves defender Willy Boly. Arsenal strengthened their options in the back-line this summer as they signed David Luiz from Chelsea. But Spanish tactician is keen to strengthen his defence even further in the winter transfer window.
French centre-back is on Gunners shortlist, but Wolverhampton will strive to keep Willy at Molineaux. Boly was signed in a £10m deal from Porto in 2017 and played a key role in helping Wolves get promoted to the Premier League last season. French defender also scored several vital goals during the previous campaign.
The 28-year-old centre-back will have one year left on his deal with Wolverhampton at the end of the campaign. Meanwhile, Calum Chambers has praised David Luiz for the impact he has made at the club after the Brazilian defender scored the winning goal in Gunners 1-0 victory against Bournemouth on the weekend.
‘David has been brilliant,’ said Calum. ‘He has come in, and no-one in the club has a bad word to say about him. ‘He is one of the most excellent guys I have met, David talks to you, gives you advice and makes everyone feel like he is giving you his undivided attention.
‘Obviously, Luiz was won things, and I haven’t won as many things as he has so there are things I can learn from him, it is always good to have an experience like that in the team. ‘Off the pitch, David is a great guy, and on the pitch, he brings his qualities and is playing well at the moment.’
