Arsenal keeping tabs with €35m-rated Argentine left-back
The Gunners are reportedly setting their sights on Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico as it’s suggested that it could cost them £20m to land his signature. Argentina international has been a total figure for the Eredivisie club since joining them in 2018, playing 99 games for the club while contributing 12 goals and 15 assists.
Nicolas has been an essential part of their recent success domestically and in Europe after impressing in the UCL last year, but it appears as though his fantastic form has attracted interest from elsewhere which could mean the Dutch club face a battle to keep hold of him this summer.
The London club are looking at Tagliafico to shore things up at left-back, while it’s suggested that it could cost them nearly £20m to sign him.
Further, in a significant boost for the London giants and the Spanish manager, it’s added explicitly that he’s open to a move to join Arsenal, and the Eredivisie giants will be prepared to greenlight an exit as long as an acceptable bid is made.
The left-back position has been problematic for the Gunners this campaign as injuries to Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac have forced teenager Bukayo Saka into covering for them in what is an unnatural position for him.
The Argentine defender is seemingly a top target for Gunners now, and given his quality and experience at both club and international level, it would arguably be a sound investment to shore things up on that flank and to push Tierney after a frustrating debut campaign in Arsenal due to injury setbacks.
