Arsenal no longer interested in signing €55m-rated Ivorian attacker

London club have no intentions of going back in for Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha during the winter transfer window. Ivory Coast international was an £80m target for Arsenal during the summer window, however ultimately, the winger never ended up sealing a move to the Gunners before August’s deadline.

London club opted to sign Wilfried’s Ivory Coast teammate Nicolas Pepe instead of him, a decision that looks to be a smart one if his two free-kick goals with Vitoria are anything to go off. Given that Arsenal were seemingly in for Zaha over the summer, some fans will be curious as to whether they’re going to go back in for him during winter.

However, if recent reports are anything to go off, it looks like the Gunners are ready to stay clear of the Crystal Palace attacker during the January window. London club have no plans on going back in for the 26-year-old forward during the mid-season transfer window, something that makes sense now that they have Pepe.

Ivorian winger is yet to find the net in 10 games across all tournaments so far this year, something that suggests the attacker may have been affected by his failure to leave Eagles during the summer. Wilfried is still very much eager to seal a move away from Selhurst Park soon.

However, if recent reports are to be believed, it doesn’t look like Zaha is going to be swapping Crystal Palace for Arsenal any time soon. He is a regular member of the national team squad and also played in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
