Arsenal planning surprise move for €15m-rated Turkish midfielder
London club are reportedly keeping a close eye on exciting Feyenoord playmaker Orkun Kokcu as he could be clear to seal a transfer away from the Dutch club for just £20m. U21 Turkey international has shone in his time in the Eredivisie and has represented his national team at youth level.
Orkun is now on Gunners radar and could be just the bargain signing they could do with as Arsenal look to build a squad for the future. London club have done well to recruit big prospects like Gabriel Martinelli and Guendouzi on the cheap in recent times, and Kokcu looks like he could be a similarly smart signing.
The 18-year-old playmaker looks to have a very bright future in the game and could be an ideal fit in Unai Emery’s side as he perhaps lacks a bit of creativity. That’s partly down to the reduced role for Mesut Ozil, so it could be that Turkish attacker would replace the German, who is said to fear his time at the London club is nearing an end.
Orkun is a product of Feyenoord youth academy and spent his current career with them. Kokcu has vast potential and can become a top-class playmaker if he continuous improvement.
Arsenal started this season excellently as they are in a third place in the Premier League table. London club signed several players during the summer transfer window like Gabriel Martinelli from Ituano, Nicolas Pepe from Lille, David Luiz from Chelsea, Kieran Tierney from Celtic, William Saliba from Saint-Étienne and Dani Ceballos on loan.
