AS Roma midfield destroyer linked with summer move to Arsenal
Arsenal are reportedly considering a move for AS Roma midfield star Amadou Diawara as an alternative to Thomas Partey should they miss to lure Ghanaian midfielder at the Emirates Stadium.
The North London club are rumoured to have already had two bids knocked back for Ghana international midfielder, who Atletico are refusing to sell less than his €50m (£45.23m) release clause.
The Gunners boss, Mikel Arteta may be forced to look elsewhere for midfield reinforcements and, according to Serie A giants AS Roma Live, Diawara is now under consideration.
The 23-year-old midfielder has joined Serie A giants AS Roma from Napoli last year and has started 21 Serie A games for Paulo Fonseca’s side.
Arsenal are supposedly preparing an initial offer of €25m (£22.62m) for African midfielder, Diawara to test AS Roma’s resolve.
However, the Gunners may face competition from Premier League outfits Leicester City for Diawara’s services.
Meanwhile, Barcelona have reportedly told Arsenal that they would be willing to include both Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic in any deal to secure services of Matteo Guendouzi to Nou Camp.
The Spanish giants have stepped up their interest in securing the services of French midfielder in recent weeks after a fall-out with head-coach Mikel Arteta saw him frozen out of the starting lineup at the Emirates Stadium.
However, club president Josep Maria Bartomeu has revealed that the Catalan giants will be forced to rely largely on swap deals if they are to bring in any new player during the summer transfer window, having been hit hard by the financial implications from the coronavirus pandemic.
