Chelsea given green light to sign No.7 La Liga prolific player
Chelsea are keeping tabs with Barcelona superstar Philippe Coutinho and ready to compete with Man United for the footballer. London club manager Maurizio Sarri wants to strengthen the front-line, and his primary target is Brazil international who has an impressive season and proves his worth one more time.
It will be difficult to sign him as Red Devils also planning to make a bid during the transfer window. There will be a real battle for the footballer, and his price could increase and become much more. Philippe is a regular member of the national team and also helped them to reach the quarter-final in the 2018 Mundial, but after losing 2-1 against Belgium, they kicked out from the tournament.
He is one of the best attackers in La Liga and a key figure for the club. In this campaign, Coutinho already played 40 matches, scored nine goals and made five assists in all competition. He has contracted with the Catalan club until 2023, and his release clause is nearly €100m.
The 26-year-old midfielder joined the Spanish club from Liverpool last January with a €130m deal. He won several titles with the Blaugrana like La Liga, Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup. Chelsea will do everything to add him this summer as Mateo Kovacic will return to Madrid, Ruben Loftus-Cheel and Danny Drinkwater linked with several clubs, Cesc Fabregas moved to Monaco, and their replacement is necessary.
London club also linked with Real Madrid attacker Isco, Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski, PSG footballer Adrien Rabiot and Sporting superstar Bruno Fernandes.
