Chelsea in pole position to sign €25m-rated Serie A defender

London club in pole position to sign Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj and prepare to make an offer in July when the transfer window opens again. Blues have problems in the back-line as Davide Zappacosta linked with several clubs and his replacement is necessary.

Albania international is the best option in this situation as he has an impressive campaign and proves his worth one more time. Italian manager set to spend big money on the player during the summer transfer window. Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid also interested in signing him and there will be a battle for the footballer.

Hysaj regularly plays in the national team squad which is already a big success for the right-back. He also helped the Little Donkeys to reach the Europa League quarter-final, and they lost the first match against Arsenal 2-0. Elseid has contracted with the Italian club until 2021, and his release clause is around £25m.

His price could increase during this season and become much more. The 25-year-old defender joined Napoli from Empoli in 2015 with a €5m deal. He is one of the best right-backs in Serie A and unchanged figure for the club. In this season, Albanian defender already played 32 matches and made two assists in all competition.

It is a good result, and he can improve his consequences with high-class teammates. Chelsea will do everything to add him this summer as César Azpilicueta needs a back-up for the next season. Blues heavily linked with Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic, Lyon footballer Tanguy Ndombele and Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale.
