Chelsea join the race to sign 19-year-old English forward
London club are set to battle it out for Jadon Sancho’s signature this summer and have not been put off by Borussia Dortmund’s whopping asking price of £120m for the winger. There is ready to be an almighty tussle to add England international before next campaign, with Blues, Man United, Man City and Liverpool all linked with a move for him.
Jadon is expected to leave Bundesliga giants after another fine campaign in Germany, which has seen him score 17 goals in all tournaments so far. A return to his home country seems extremely likely, with many suitors in the Premier League and all aware of only how expensive Sancho will be.
Blues are preparing to invest heavily in the summer and are not deterred by the £120m fee that German club will be requesting for the 19-year-old winger. After losing Eden Hazard last summer and not making any additions in the last two transfer windows, Blues have money to spend, especially if Frank can guide them to a UCL place this campaign.
However, that does not mean they will get their man, with Man United ready to compete and Man City able to match any offer accepted by Borussia Dortmund if they want to re-sign the English forward.
Reds are the least likely of the four PL clubs to make a bid for Jadon, as he would not be guaranteed a place in the first team at Liverpool and they are looking for cheaper options in the transfer market. BVB are also keen to keep hold of one of their most valuable assets, although they would be happy to accept a bid of £120m if it did materialise.
