Chelsea keen on signing 23-year-old English shot-stopper
The London giants coach Frank Lampard is reportedly set to be backed in the transfer market with a potential £50m move for Man United shot-stopper Dean Henderson.
England international has impressed on loan at Sheffield United both this campaign and last and seems like he could well be a candidate for the number one shirt for the Three Lions team shortly.
His Red Devils situation, however, is less clear, with David de Gea perhaps looking ready to stay the first choice at Man United after showing himself to be an elite goalkeeper for so many years.
Blues are hopeful that they could sway Dean by offering him regular football, something he will need if he is to become Gareth Southgate’s first choice at the international level.
This could be risky for Man United, however, as De Gea made another costly error against Spurs in Friday’s match, and now the London club are eyeing their promising young ‘shot-stopper Henderson.
Chelsea could undoubtedly do with an upgrade on Kepa Arrizabalaga after an unconvincing campaign which at one point saw him dropped from Lampard’s starting line-up. It’s little surprise Blues could back their coach in moving for a replacement for Kepa, and the English goalkeeper seems the perfect candidate.
The footballer may well feel a move to Chelsea could be good for his career, with Blues ahead of Red Devils in the race for a Champions League place next campaign, as well as being more likely to offer him regular game time.
