Chelsea keeping tabs with €35m-rated Premier League left-back

Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell has emerged as a target for Chelsea. Frank Lampard, as is the case with many, is understood to be a fan of the 22-year-old left-back and wants to have him signed as soon as the transfer ban is uplifted.

Foxes asking price being £70m, we’ll see whether the former Chelsea midfielder is a fan. If he is, he shouldn’t have much of an issue with the valuation. Man City, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have previously shown interest in Ben as well. However, none of them has made a formal approach as of yet.

The summer was all about whether Harry Maguire will remain or not. One day Man United were in for him, the other they had either signed him or given up on him. All of this continued for months before the Red Devils finally made him the world’s expensive centre-back. These days, he’s busy bossing the Old Trafford pitch.

Now it looks it is Chilwell’s turn to make the headlines for the wrong reasons. England international spent his years of youth with Leicester City and impressed everyone with his performances. He has a vast potential and can become a top-class defender if he continuous improvement.

Last season English left-back played 36 matches and provided five assists in all competitions. It is an excellent result, and he can do much more during this campaign. Ben has contracted with the Foxes until 2024, and his release clause is around £70m. He also named in the Three Lions squad several times.
