Chelsea preparing to sell €25m-rated striker during the January

The London club have reportedly slapped a price tag of £45m on centre-forward Michy Batshuayi. The 26-year-old striker has just played 19 matches across all tournaments under Frank Lampard this campaign so far with only three of them being starts. He is a regular member of the national team squad and also played in the 2018 World Cup.

Michy has scored five goals so far while providing two assists. Batshuayi has been linked to Aston Villa lately with the Premier League club contacted the Blues regarding a loan move for him. However, it would be complicated for them to sign Belgium international as Chelsea want £45m for the centre-forward.

The report also claims that Crystal Palace are interested in signing the Belgian centre-forward along with Aston Villa. Michy is currently London club’s second-choice striker with Frank preferring Tammy Abraham who has scored 13 goals in 21 Premier League games so far.

Given Abraham’s current form, it seems highly unlikely that Batshuayi will receive many first-team chances which might hamper his chances of making his nation’s team for Euro 2020. Hence, a move to Crystal Palace or Aston Villa could be suitable for the centre-forward as he would receive ample game time.

If the London club have slapped a £45m price tag on the centre-forward, it means that they aren’t too willing to let go of him. Besides, if Tammy gets injured, Batshuayi will be the footballer the London club will look to. Chelsea have excellent consequences in the Premier League this campaign as they are in a fourth place in the table.
