Chelsea ready to offer new contract to 20-year-old talented centre-back

Chelsea are in advanced talks with Trevor Chalobah regarding a new contract. Trevoh enjoyed an excellent loan spell at Ipswich Town last campaign, amid their relegation, and Chalobah is now in line to secure a new long-term deal at Stamford Bridge before being sent out on loan again.

He wants to prove his worth to Frank Lampard after taking part in the first team’s pre-season tour of Ireland. Several clubs have expressed an interest in taking Englishman on loan, with promotion hopefuls Fulham and West Brom identified as the front runners for his signature.

The 20-year-old defender has risen through the ranks at London club, but thus far has only been subjected to three unused substitute appearances for the first team, and the plan is to aid his progression through another loan spell. Last campaign Chalobah played 44 matches, scored two goals and provided one assist in all competitions.

Trevoh has just two years left on his current contract, and a new deal will be swiftly negotiated before the club decide where to send the youngster on loan this season. London club had an impressive consequence in the Premier League as they finished the competition in a third position and secured the Champions League group stage place.

Chelsea also won the Europa League final against Arsenal 4-1, and it was the last title for Eden Hazard who joined Real Madrid this summer. English club signed Christian Pulisic during the winter transfer window and now Blues unable to buy new players until next summer due to a transfer ban.
