Chelsea still want to sign €55m-rated Premier League winger
London club are reportedly eyeing up two top-class attacking footballers in the form of Jadon Sancho and Wilfried Zaha as they hope to have around £150m to spend when their transfer ban ends. Chelsea were unable to make new signings during the summer, but could soon find out if they can do so once again in winter.
And if they are, Blues have big plans as they eye up Borussia Dortmund star Sancho and Crystal Palace winger Zaha to fill that void left by Eden Hazard after his summer move to Real Madrid.
Still, Blues surely need to bolster attack after Hazard’s departure, even if the likes of Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi also look decent youthful replacements.
Ivory Coast international, meanwhile, has also previously been linked with Chelsea and would likely cost nearly £80m, a little cheaper than Jadon for an older footballer less likely to improve that much, though with the benefit of being more proven in the Premier League.
The 26-year-old attacker was linked with Arsenal in the summer, as they could still pursue him even after already signing Nicolas Pepe in that position. Given that Nicolas has made a slow start to life with Arsenal, it makes sense that they might still be interested in Wilfried.
If the London club can beat two of their biggest top-four rivals to either of these players, it would undoubtedly be the fine business to help them move forward and to prevent some key opponents from strengthening. Zaha is a regular member of the national team line-up which is already a big achievement for the winger.
