Citizens keen on signing €50m-rated Man United long-term target

Citizens almost finished negotiations with Leicester City defender Harry Maguire and ready to compete with Man United, Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea for the footballer. Pep Guardiola wants to strengthen the back-line, and his primary target is England international who had an impressive campaign and proved his worth one more time.

Vincent Kompany joined Anderlecht, Nicolas Otamendy already up to 30, Eliaquim Mangala has a severe injury, and they need replacement. Spanish manager will do everything to add him this July, but it won’t be easy as Red Devils, Spurs, Gunners and Blues also preparing to make an offer during the transfer window.

There will be a contest for the player, and his price could become much more. The 26-year-old centre-back joined the English club from Hull City in 2017 with a €14m deal. He became an unchanged figure for the club and scored many vital goals since joining.

In this season, English defender played 32 games and scored three goals in all tournament. It is a great result, and he can do much more with world-class teammates. Maguire has contracted with the Foxes until 2023, and his release clause is around €45m.

He is a regular member of the Three Lions squad and also helped them to finish the 2018 Mundial in a fourth place which is already a significant achievement for the player. Probably Harry will accept the correct offer from the Spanish coach. Man City had fantastic results in this campaign as they won Premier League, Fa Cup and Carabao Cup. English club heavily linked with Ajax centre-back Matthijs de Ligt and Wolves star Ruben Neves.
