Done Deal: €20m-rated attacker signed new contract with Arsenal
The London giants have announced that Bukayo Saka has put pen to paper on a new long-term contract at Arsenal. The London giants had been sweating over U19 England international’s deal situation, with the winger’s previous contract due to expire in 2021, but the teenager has finally put an end to the uncertainty over his future.
PL rivals Man United and Liverpool were both monitoring proceedings over recent weeks and months and the Spanish manager will be relieved that the London club have managed to tie down Bukayo. Arteta told the Gunners official website: ‘Bukayo is a talented and intelligent young player.
‘He has impressed me with his work ethic and attitude to learn and adapt, and it has paid off in his performances. I am excited to continue working with him to develop him further, and for him to help us achieve our goals.’
Technical director Edu added: ‘This is something everyone involved wanted to happen and we are delighted that Saka has signed a new long-term deal.’
Saka, who has been with Gunners since the age of seven, broke into Unai Emery’s first-team midway through the last term and made his debut at home to Qarabag in the UEL.
The English winger has impressed in several positions, filling in as a makeshift left-back for much of this campaign while Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac have been out injured.
The 18-year-old winger has racked up an excellent tally of 11 assists this campaign making him the first youngster to hit double figures since Cesc Fabregas way back in Gunners 2006/07 season.
