Done Deal: Inter Milan signed €35m-rated Man Utd winger with a loan deal
Alexis Sanchez has completed a season-long loan move from the Red Devils to Inter Milan. Alexis managed only three league goals in a miserable 18-month spell at Old Trafford and has been keen to follow Romelu Lukaku to the San Siro to revive his stuttering career.
Negotiations between Man United and Nerazzurri advanced rapidly on Tuesday night, and the two clubs finally agreed following weeks of intense speculation. Chile International was given a hero’s welcome when he landed in Milan on Wednesday before completing a medical with the Italian club.
Red Devils will continue paying £300,000 of Sanchez’s £400,000-a-week wages, with Serie A giants agreeing to contribute £100,000-a-week until the deal expires in June 2020. ‘We can confirm that Alexis Sanchez joins Inter Milan on loan until 30 June 2020,’ a tweet from Red Devils official account said on Thursday evening.
‘We wish Alexis Sanchez the best of luck in Italy.’ On Thursday afternoon, the 30-year-old winger sent a right luck message to his Man United team-mates in preparation for his move to Inter. ‘Good luck boys for the rest of the season,’ the former Udinese, Barcelona and Arsenal forward said.
A statement on Inter Milan’s official website wished Chilean star a ‘warm welcome’ following his arrival. ‘Alexis Sanchez is officially an Inter player,’ it said. ‘The Chilean has joined Inter Milan from Man United on a loan deal that will last until 30 June 2020.
‘Throughout Alexis Sanchez’s life, football has always represented everything, and he has always been happiest with a ball between his feet.
