Dortmund to increase their expenses during the upcoming seasons
Officially, during the 2014/2015 fiscal year, Borussia Dortmund increased their turnover to 276 million euros. This is 15.3 million (or 5.9%) more than the year before. Net profit was 5.5 million euros (previous year: 12 million). EBITDA according to the club’s financial director Thomas Treß , was 55.6 million euros.

Already, during the last season, Dortmund payroll rose from 85 to the 94 million euros. “The budget we will gradually increase,” – said Hans-Joachim Watzke. According to him, now the club’s emergency storage account is 54 million euros, “and this amount”, stressed Dortmund boss, “we are not going to increase.” However, despite the increase in investment in the club, the liabilities of Dortmund are not expected to increase, “We never got into debt.”
The increase in the turnover of the club noted in sectors such as the sale of rights to broadcast (82.1 million euro, increase: 0.6 million), advertising and sponsorship revenues (75.5 million, 2.7 million), but the highest growth was recorded in Industry Merchandising (39.3 million, + 11.2%). from the sales of tickets, club earned less because of the early departure from the Champions League: 39.9 million (previous year: 40.5 million).
