€35m-rated Man United forward will miss three months due to an injury

Alexis Sanchez could be out for three months if he has surgery on his ankle, according to Chile manager Reinaldo Rueda. Red Devils on-loan winger was forced off in Chile’s goalless draw with Colombia on the weekend. Chile international was initially diagnosed with ‘dislocated ankle tendons’.

Chile confirming that Alexis has been sent back to Inter for an MRI scan. And Rueda admits Sanchez could miss the rest of 2019 if the Nerazzurri decide that surgery is the best treatment. ‘You have to see if the club will operate on Alexis or not,’ Rueda said. ‘You have to see what diagnosis the club will make because he is decisive for us.

‘If he has surgery you will lose him for two to three months, if not, it can be weeks, that depends on the club. ‘You always want to have them all here and losing Alexis is a shame, he was cheerful and super motivated.’ The 30-year-old forward joined Serie A giants from Man United this summer with a loan deal.

He is a regular member of the national team squad and also helped them to win the Copa America two times, which is already a big achievement for the footballer.

Inter Milan started this campaign fantastically as they are in a second place in the Serie A table. Italian giants signed several footballers during the summer transfer window like Romelu Lukaku from Man United, Diego Godin from Atletico Madrid, Valentino Lazaro from Hertha, Matteo Politano from Sassuolo and Nicolo Barella from Cagliari.
