€45m-rated Blues centre-back may skip UEL match due to an injury
Chelsea footballer Antonio Rudiger got a severe injury during the Premier League match with Liverpool, and he may skip the Europa League second quarter-final game against Slavia Praha this week. It is terrible news for the London club as he is an unchanged figure for the club and it will be challenging to achieve success without him.
Germany international has an impressive campaign and proves his worth one more time. He also signed a new contract with the English club and planning to win many trophies with them. Antonio joined the Blues from Roma in 2017 with a £35m deal. He is one of the best defenders in the Premier League and a key figure for the club.
In this season, Rudiger already played 43 matches and scored one goal in all tournament. It is an excellent result, and he can do much more during this campaign. The 26-year-old centre-back has contracted with the London club until 2022, and his release clause is around £45m.
His price could increase and become much more during this season. The German defender regularly plays in the national team squad which is already a big success for the footballer. Chelsea signed several players last summer like Jorginho from Napoli, Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid and Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao.
Blues also added Juventus centre-forward Gonzalo Higuain and Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic this January. English club heavily linked with Bayer Leverkusen attacker Julian Brandt, Borussia Monchengladbach centre-back Matthias Ginter, Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale and Juventus superstar Paulo Dybala.
