Dani Ceballos insists he has not regretted over joining the London club on loan from Real Madrid and is ‘very happy’ at Emirates Stadium. Spain international failed to win the full trust of Zinedine Zidane following his €18m transfer from Real Betis two years ago and was desperate to leave the Los Blancos in the summer.
Spanish tactician played a decisive role in convincing the creative midfielder to join the Gunners on loan ahead of north London rivals Spurs and Ceballos has quickly established himself as fans’ favourite at the London club. Dani is due to return to La Liga at the end of the campaign, but he wasn’t enjoying his football at Madrid.
‘Going to the London club has been a crucial step in my career,’ the 23-year-old midfielder said. ‘I don’t feel sorry for not being in Real Madrid. For now, I am where I want to be, and I am delighted. My idea was to go out, play and enjoy football.
‘My goal is only to work to keep doing things correctly. ‘I have eight months left at Emirates Stadium, I can only thank them for the confidence that the manager and fans have placed in me, who have already made me a song. I am delighted there, and I hope to continue for a long time.’
Spanish playmaker’s impressive early performances for the Gunners has earned him a promotion to the senior Furia Roja squad having impressed at the Euro Under-21 Championships past summer. ‘In this national team, there is no one indisputable,’ Spaniard added.
