Inter Milan agree personal terms with 27-year-old Man United transfer target
Tottenham attacker Christian Eriksen has agreed to complete a move to Inter Milan this winter, according to reports in Italy. Denmark international is out of the deal at London club at the end of the campaign, and the forward has made it clear he has no interest in extending his contract as he is seeking a move away from the PL.
Red Devils held negotiations to sign Christian, but the attacker informed Man United he had ‘no interest’ in a move to Old Trafford and instead favoured a switch to a foreign club. Eriksen has reached an agreement to join Nerazzurri this January and the Italian club have now entered into talks with Spurs.
The two clubs are some distance apart with regards to the 27-year-old forward’s valuation, though. While Inter Milan have made an offer of €10m for the attacker, Tottenham are holding out for a fee closer to €20m. Discussions could rumble on until the end of the transfer window, with Daniel Levy reluctant to lose to him for a cut-price fee.
The Danish star is one of Tottenham’s longest-serving figures, playing over 300 games since his 2013 move from Ajax and scoring 69 goals for the Spurs. There were some boos for Christian at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday night as Spurs overcame Middlesbrough to reach the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Portuguese tactician admitted it was a possibility Eriksen could leave after the match and praised the attacker’s performance. ‘He played very well. Played very well, very professional which is what I expect from him,’ Mourinho said following Tottenham’s 2-1 victory.’
