Italian club almost finished talks with £350,000-a-week Man United winger

Alexis Sanchez’s medical at Inter Milan has reportedly been done as he edges closer to completing a loan transfer away from the Red Devils. The 30-year-old winger has been a major flop at Old Trafford and decided to leave after Norwegian manager made it clear he would limit his playing time if he stayed this campaign.

Man United fans will surely be thrilled once this is all officially wrapped up, with Alexis sure to go down as one of their worst ever signings. Chile international has never looked like settling at the club, and even if Red Devils cannot replace him with any new signings until the transfer window opens again in winter, his exit now is surely for the best.

Sanchez has now undergone his medical at Inter, though his loan move does not give the Italian club an obligation to sign him permanently. The report suggests this is because Man United are aware Chilean forward could improve at Nerazzurri and perhaps boost his value in the transfer market for next summer.

This may well prove sensible business by Inter Milan as it wouldn’t be surprising if they’ve struggled to find suitors for him this transfer window after his dramatic dip in form since joining from the Gunners. Nerazzurri started this season fantastically as they won the first match in Serie A against Lecce 4-0.

Italian club already signed Romelu Lukaku from Man United, Nicolo Barella from Cagliari, Valentino Lazaro from Hertha BSC, Diego Godin from Atletico Madrid, Ionut Radu from Genoa, Gabriel Brazao from Parma and Cristiano Biraghi from Fiorentina and Stefano Sensi from Sassuolo.
