Italian club given green light to sign €20m-rated Man United winger
Tahith Chong has already decided not to extend his Red Devils contract beyond 2020, with interest from many clubs around Europe. The U21 Netherlands international is out of the deal at the end of the campaign, and with only four Premier League matches to his name, he is looking at options away from Man United.
Tahith has shown a lot of promise and has also made appearances in the Champions League, FA Cup and EFL Cup. Chong arrived at Old Trafford from Feyenoord in 2016, leaving the Eredivisie giants because ‘no plan was made for me. When I said I wanted to leave the club, they made a plan. That was too late.’
It appears that he has now got a similar feeling at Man United, as he has already chosen not to renew his contract in Man United, with Juventus interested in snapping him up on a free in the summer. The 19-year-old winger said of his future: ‘For me, all options are currently open.
I have to focus on the campaign first, then I’ll see where my journey takes me.’ His agent, Erkan Alkan, also confirmed that there was offer, not just from Bianconeri, but also from Bundesliga and La Liga. ‘Chong does not want to be loaned, but he wants to fight for his place at Man United,’ Alkan said.
Earlier in the campaign, Dutch attacker spoke positively about the arrival of the Norwegian as a coach and spoke of his need to knuckle down and prove himself to Ole Gunnar Solskjær. It now looks like he will be looking to grab those opportunities elsewhere.
