Juventus in the battle to sign 23-year-old Liverpool transfer target

Bianconeri have joined Liverpool in the race for Turkish shot-stopper Ugurcan Cakir. Merseyside club have been monitoring goalkeepers since allowing Simon Mignolet to come back to Belgium this transfer window, with the Reds deciding to bring in former West Ham shot-stopper Adrian on a two-year deal.

Although the experienced Spaniard has reasonably amazed during his short time at Anfield, where he has been thrown in at the deep end due to first-choice Alisson Becker being injured, the Champions League holders are still looking at more long-term options for the future.

Liverpool went to scout Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan as he put in a man of the game display against Fenerbahce shortly before the international break. Turkish shot-stopper has contracted with the club until 2021, and his release clause is around €30m.

Cakir’s agent has confirmed that Reds, Lille and Schalke have shown an interest in the 23-year-old shot-stopper, while reports have also linked him with Celta Vigo but now, a more powerful rival have entered the race to add him. Old Lady are also interested in Turkey international, formulating a plan to sign him next summer.

Serie A champions are ready to outmuscle their competitors by offering up to a staggering €30m for the shot-stopper, who only made his senior international debut this year after becoming Trabzonspor’s number one in winter.

Juventus signed several players this summer like Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal, Merih Demiral from Sassuolo, Danilo from Man City, Gianluigi Buffon from PSG, Matthijs de Ligt from Ajax, Luca Pellegrini from Roma, Adrien Rabiot from PSG and Christian Romero from Genoa.
