La Liga giants are closely monitoring 21-year-old Liverpool right-back
Merseyside club coach Jurgen Klopp has reportedly moved to block any negotiations over Trent Alexander-Arnold potentially leaving the Reds for a transfer to Blaugrana. England international is being linked as a £72m target for La Liga giants in their problem position of right-back, but it looks Jurgen is not willing to even discuss a deal.
This is hardly surprising as Trent has become a hugely important figure for Liverpool and looks set to be one of the game’s finest full-backs potentially for the next decade.
Alexander-Arnold has done superbly since breaking into Reds first-team, and no doubt looks an ideal fit for the Catalan club’s attacking style of play as he could be the perfect long-term successor to Dani Alves.
Merseyside club fans, however, will be relieved to see that it looks Liverpool is adamant they’ll keep hold of the 21-year-old defender, who has a contract at Anfield until 2024. He is a regular member of the Three Lions squad which is already a big success for the footballer.
This puts Reds in a strong position, and there also seems little reason to leave Liverpool for any other club in Europe right now after the huge strides they’ve made since German tactician joined the Merseyside club.
Barcelona started this season excellently as they are in a second place in La Liga table. Catalan club signed several footballers during the summer transfer window like Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid, Junior Firpo from Real Betis, Neto from Valencia, Frenkie de Jong from Ajax and Jean-Clair Todibo from Toulouse.
