La Liga giants join race to sign €45m-rated Chelsea long-term target

The Catalan club are reportedly interested in signing Ajax shot-stopper Andre Onana who has also attracted interest from Chelsea. Currently valued at €45m, the 23-year-old goalkeeper has done pretty well for the Eredivisie club this campaign. Frank Lampard wants to strengthen the squad during the summer transfer window.

So far, Andre has kept 15 clean sheets in 34 games across all tournaments for the Jews who are currently six points clear at the top of the league table. Onana has been linked to Chelsea with Dutch outlet Voetbal Nieuws claiming that he has agreed to join them.

However, a report from Spanish newspaper Sport suggests that Blaugrana are interested in signing him as well. A former footballer in the Catalan club’s youth team, he has played 173 for games for Ajax, keeping a total of 74 clean sheets so far. Andre is a regular member of the national team squad which is already a big success for the goalkeeper.

Given his current form, it’s no surprise that bigger clubs are interested in signing him. Blaugrana currently have one of Europe’s top keepers in Marc-Andre Ter Stegen hence, Andre may have to be on the bench if they sign him. Cameroon international may be a regular for Blues if he joins them as Kepa hasn’t been in great form this campaign.

Barcelona have excellent consequences in La Liga this campaign as they are in a second place in the table. Blaugrana signed several footballers during the summer transfer window like Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid, Junior Firpo from Real Betis, Frenkie de Jong from Ajax, Neto from Valencia and Jean-Clair Todibo from Toulouse.
