Ligue 1 giants in pole position to sign €20m-rated ex-Arsenal midfielder

Gunners finances are reportedly ready to receive a welcome boost before of the winter transfer window, with former midfielder Jeff Reine-Adelaide linked with a move to Lyon from Angers. Arsenal have recently concluded a busy summer which saw coach Unai Emery sign six new faces to his squad.

In addition to completing moves for defender David Luiz, forward Gabriel Martinelli and a loan move for Dani Ceballos.

Forward Nicolas Pepe arrived from Lille in a club-record £72m deal, while the Premier League side also spent a combined fee of over £50m on defenders Kieran Tierney and William Saliba, who joined from Celtic and Saint-Etienne respectively.

While Gunners are spending exceeding £130m by the time the transfer window slammed shut, the London club were able to raise funds to help Emery’s summer spree through several sales.

After parting ways with the likes Krystian Bielik and Laurent Koscielny, Arsenal also gave their budget a significant boost by selling Alex Iwobi to Everton on deadline day, in a deal that could rise to £35m.

And Arsenal funds could be ready for another increase, with reports in France claiming that ex-player Reine-Adelaide is on the verge of an £18.5m move to Lyon.

If Jeff does complete the transfer from fellow Ligue 1 side Angers, Ouest France reports that the London club will receive 10% of the fee as part of a sell-on clause agreed when the footballer was sold a year ago.

After managing just eight senior appearances at the Emirates, the 21-year-old midfielder impressed for the Ligue 1 side last term, scoring three goals and three assists in 36 games.
