Ligue 1 giants join race to sign €55m-rated Man United transfer target

Red Devils face new competition in the race to sign Bruno Fernandes with Paris Saint-Germain interested in the Sporting superstar. Man United have been chasing the Portugal international all summer, but Sporting’s hefty asking price has proved a stumbling block in their pursuit of the footballer.

Sporting want at least £55m for Bruno, which has put off some suitors and has delayed Red Devils making a bid for him. Parisians are also showing an interest in Fernandes, but are also put off by the weighty transfer fee. However, the French club are ready to pounce if another bid comes in for the playmaker.

Portuguese club are waiting for Man United, PSG or any other clubs to meet the price they have set, although they may be forced to lower it as they hope to cash in this transfer window. The 24-year-old midfielder, who has 13 caps for Portugal, scored 20 goals from 33 league matches last campaign, with six more in other tournaments.

His goal-scoring prowess from the middle of the park has caught the eye of several Europe’s biggest clubs, with Tottenham have also shown interest this summer. Red Devils were confident that a deal would be done for Portuguese attacker, but they may now need to move a bit quicker than planned with the interest of Parisians.

PSG had a fantastic consequence in Ligue 1 as they won the competition one more time. French club already signed Ander Herrera from Man United, Pablo Sarabia from Sevilla, Abdou Diallo from Borussia Dortmund, Marcin Bulka from Chelsea and Mitchel Bakker from Ajax.
