Liverpool are close to signing £20,000-a-week PL goalkeeper

Liverpool are close to signing Cardiff City goalkeeper Neil Etheridge and planning to make a bid in July when the transfer window opens again. Jurgen Klopp wants to strengthen the squad, and his target is Philippines international who had a fantastic season and paid attention.

Simon Mignolet already 31-year-old, Loris Karius linked with several clubs and they need replacement. German manager set to spend big money on the shot-stopper during the summer transfer window. Several clubs are also interested in signing him, and there will be a contest for the goalkeeper.

Etheridge joined the English club from Walsall in 2017 with a free deal. He became an unchanged figure for the club and impressed everyone with his performances. In this campaign, Neil played 38 games and made ten clean sheets in all tournament.

It is an excellent result, and he can do much more with world-class partners. The 29-year-old goalkeeper has contracted with the Bluebirds until 2021, and his release clause is nearly €10m. His price could become much more during this summer.

Filipino shot-stopper regularly plays in the national team which is already a big success for the goalkeeper. Probably he will accept the correct offer from the German coach. Liverpool added several footballers last summer like Fabinho from Monaco, Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City, Alisson Becker from Roma and Naby Keita from RB Leipzig.

Merseyside club heavily linked with Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio, Ajax forward David Neres, PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot, Benfica starlet Joao Felix, Juventus attacker Paulo Dybala, Lyon striker Moussa Dembele and Porto centre-forward Moussa Marega.
