Liverpool are desperate to sign No.11 German centre-forward

Reds could reportedly make the shock decision to seal the transfer of Timo Werner this summer before loaning him back to RB Leipzig for next campaign. This is according to the latest speculation on Germany international’s future. Jurgen Klopp wants to strengthen the front-line during the summer transfer window.

This would be a rather surprising way for Reds to do a deal for Timo, who has been one of Europe’s top strikers so far this campaign. Werner surely looks set now to make the step up to a bigger club, and seems a perfect signing to this Reds squad, even if the German tactician perhaps doesn’t look in the most urgent need of more attackers.

Some recent results have been disappointing for the Merseyside club, however, and it’s vital that they continue to improve, rather than expecting what’s worked this campaign and last to carry on bringing results. Liverpool have fantastic consequences in the Premier League this campaign as they are leading the table.

The 23-year-old centre-forward’s arrival could be useful to provide more of a goal threat up front than Firmino, who could then move into a more creative role behind the main front footballers. Merseyside club signed several players last summer like Sepp van den Berg from Zwolle, Harvey Elliott from Fulham and Spanish goalkeeper Adrian.

Reds wouldn’t gain a huge amount from the German centre-forward spending another campaign in Germany, so it will be interesting to see if Reds do go through with this shock possible plan. Merseyside club signed Takumi Minamino from RB Salzburg during the winter transfer window.
