Liverpool eyeing move for highly-rated Bundesliga ace
Liverpool are allegedly monitoring Borussia Dortmund’s midfield prodigy, Giovanni Reyna, ahead of a future transfer.
The 17-year-old American is a promising young player who has already featured in the senior team 18 times since his debut.
Reyna, who is part of an exciting wave of players to play for the United States national team, is tipped as a future star alongside fellow talents Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who has strong ties with BVB after his spell managing there, is a big fan of Giovanni according to the Mirror.
The Premier League giants are thought to have scouted him on multiple occasions to get a feel for his development.
He is versatile and can play either as a playmaker or as a left winger. The ace already has links with England.
Reyna was born there whilst his father, former Manchester City and Rangers forward Claudio Reyna, was playing for Sunderland.
A transfer could materialise in the future if the Reds are impressed with the player’s development. He is currently at one of the best clubs in the world for developing young players and is getting decent playing time.
A transfer during this market is unlikely as Dortmund plan to use Giovanni in the upcoming Bundesliga season. They will chase down Hansi Flick’s Bayern Munich after finishing second place last season.
Liverpool have thus far been fairly quiet during this transfer market. Their only addition is Greek star Kostas Tsimikas, who joined for a reported £11.75 million sum from Olympiacos.
