Liverpool identified Serie A star as a replacement for Simon Mignolet
Roma keeper Alisson has developed as a target for Liverpool this January, according to stories in Italy.
Alisson, 25, has played 40 games for Roma since joining the club back in 2016 and has proved himself as first-choice shot-stopper at Stadio Olimpico after Wojciech Szczesny’s exit.
The Brazilian’s displays in Serie A have put Paris Saint-Germain on red alert, but it’s believed Jurgen Klopp is also showing significant interest.
La Gazzetta Dello Sport claims Liverpool could ‘sacrifice’ Simon Mignolet to get a deal over the line for Alisson.
Both Mignolet and Loris Karius continue to fight between the sticks at Anfield, and some ‘keepers have been linked with moves to Liverpool.
PSG outcast Kevin Trapp hinted back in November that he would be keen on working under Klopp at Anfield.
“It’s a fantastic club with a great tradition, And of course, I’m a fan of the Premier League. The Reds are not without interest, they have already won many titles, and Jurgen Klopp is, of course, an excellent coach.
“I have not thought of possible clubs yet. However, many things can happen in football. Even if I’m not the most patient person, I have to stay cool.”
