Liverpool in bidding war for €200m-rated World Cup winning winger

Merseyside club are being tipped to make a huge transfer splash in winter to boost their Premier League title push. Liverpool will move for either Kylian Mbappe or Jadon Sancho, while another big signing will arrival in the summer.

However, a move for France international is more likely to happen at the end of the campaign, as Parisians will not sell one of their star men mid-seasons.  However, Maddock ruled out the possibility of Kylian moving to Liverpool due to the attacker’s price tag and the fact that no major club will agree to sell their best footballer mid-season.

He said: “I doubt it could happen…His price tag would be nearly £200m, maybe more, and there’s just no way Reds would pay that. So for there to be any opportunity, the price would have to come down significantly, and with Real Madrid interested, I can’t see that happening.”

That leaves England international as a viable option in the New Year, although Sancho would be viewed more as a back-up option to Jurgen Klopp’s current strike trio.

Jadon, who is also wanted by Man United and Chelsea, is expected to be available for the right price in winter, which is likely to be more than £100m, after falling out with Dortmund coach Lucien Favre.

Although deemed to be a back-up, Englishman’s potential arrival would certainly give Liverpool a huge lift as they chase a first top-flight title success in 30 years. Mbappe is a key figure for the Les Bleus squad and also helped them to win the 2018 World Cup which is already a big achievement for the footballer.
